Al sonoro rugir del…

A site-specific sound installation at the Laboratorio Arte Alemeda Museum, designed for its spiral staircase. On the ground level, an original sound speech of Francisco I. Madero (recorded in Puebla on July 18, 1911) was played. As the public ascended the stairs, the sound of the speech re-enactment, performed by my father and brother, were simultaneously played and aligned with their portraits, emulating the posture from Madero´s last portrait taken in 1911. The piece analyzes the use of repetition of written history that becomes distorted by the multiplicity of discursive interpretations.
